Monday Moments with M. G. #9

Good morning,

I hope this was a great week for you. Here at M. G. Lorraine Media, LLC our week was full of surprises.  When choosing the path of writing, finally taking the leap and deciding that you’re going to transition from a day job or career, and you hope that you’re good enough to make it full-time, no one along the trail says to you, “It’s gonna be bumpy, exciting, creative, crazy, adventuresome, fabulous, amazing, and unbelievable all at the same time." Nor will anyone say to you, "My, that team of yours rocks the world, and I’m so jealous.” But I’ve discovered that other writers aren’t blessed with a team like mine— friends who come together to support the work. Yet for all the surprises this week, for my team, and even for the unspoken but certain obstacles every author faces, I am unbelievably grateful.

Getting the book from the closet to the publisher has been an amazing journey on its own, but now, with bringing the book to you, the reader, the journey is even more filled with surprises, details, insights, and things that are unknown. It seems like every day lines up a new set of questions, tasks, and details. "What can we shock M. G. and her team with today? What can we challenge her team to do better? What task or metaphorical fire can jump up and say 'hey, hey, hey, I need your attention' and drag you away from writing?" Every single day, my team and I find more places that we should be posting, more people we should be connecting with, more books to read and share, more forms we should fill out, and more ways we should be working towards making sure that you - the reader - can easily have access to the Dorchester Sisters Novel series.

This journey of bringing Fossils: A Dorchester Sisters Novel to readers has been incredible ...and we’re not there yet. I still need to see clients; my team is still volunteering full-time hours after they put in a full-time job, but every day we get a little closer to the goal. Every day we’re blessed by meeting more of you, having more of you come to read, and enjoy more reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Lulu and more.

With all the other ways you can spend your time and all the choices of books that are available, we’re blessed that you picked Fossils: Dorchester Sisters Novel to read. And every day to see to it that you come away from Fossils: A Dorchester Sisters asking the question: how quickly will Antiquities: A Dorchester Sisters Novel be available. And the answer is: I hope to have a date for you in a week or so. But in the meantime, know that in the background, we’re working every day to finish Sequins: A Dorchester Sisters Novel - the third book in the series - and working to get our children’s book series available late spring, and to get our ‘tween series out in publication during the summer.

So from behind the scenes - the surprises, the joy of writing, the fabulous opportunities and the love you give to my team and me … for that support, I just want to say, Thank You!
