As Kileah, Jennifer and Sabrina Dorchester stole an unusual sisterly moment for coffee, the conversation went straight to things they loved; each of them had very different preferences. They had each stayed after Kileah and Quinton‘s wedding. It was only been a few days with family time at home in Nebraska, but it was nice to be together.
As the coffee finished brewing Kileah lifted her cup toward her sisters. "I still like mine the same, strong black Colombian, with a little cream of sugar," she said.
Sabrina laughed, "I’d rather have Arabica, but I can drink Colombian two cream, two sugar and mocha." She said with the wink.
"Of course." Kileah said handing her a lovely mocha syrup to use for flavor.
"Jennifer, I know you prefer espresso, but I only have Colombian. I did, however, brew it very strong." She said with a laugh. "... and I have heavy cream and whatever kind of sweetener you might like."
"Thank you, Kileah. I can survive on good strong coffee for a few days." Jennifer said with a smile.
"When was the last time we were actually together? ... It had to have been Sabrina and Matt‘s wedding?"
"It was," Sabrina said. "And Kileah! Did I later learn you nearly gave Quentin another black eye at the reception?"
Kileah started laughing, "Actually, I thought about it. I’m glad that this worked it out, but it was dicey there for a minute."
Jennifer laughed. "I miss that piece of gossip."
"Oh, it wasn’t a thing at the time. Later, it turned out to be a conversation that needed to be had."
"Don’t you all think, it’s hilarious that we all love coffee? But the differences are huge." Sabrina said.
"Well, we can all enjoy Colombian for today. But next time we’re all together, I’ll try to get some of your favorites so we can each have some."
"Oh, Kileah; it’s not that important! We will survive! Now, what’s the rest of today? Sister gossip? I know I’ve been missing stuff." Sabrina said, "You know, in New York. It’s not Denver or Omaha." ... With that and hot coffee in hand, they all headed out for an afternoon of shopping and sisterly gossip."
Until next time,
