Monday Moments with M. G. #24

Good morning, Happy Monday!

As we open up this week there is so much to look forward to as we approach the 250th birthday celebration of the United States!

What a journey of ups and downs, stumbles and triumphs, dark times and daylight shining through the night, but she has fought and kicked her way into a 250th birthday party.

She’s grown from those 13 straggling colonies to 50 states and 6 territories. She’s grown has in size and stretched across the continent from sea to shining sea and north to south. Has it been perfect, no? But we continue to strive for a more perfect union and to be governed by the people for the people.

Just like raising a baby from birth to adulthood it’s not a perfect path and no child comes with an instruction manual. Neither is founding a representative constitutional republic and raising her up to adulthood. We’re still growing and learning but at 250 years, we are the oldest constitutional republic/democracy.

So happy 250th birthday, American! May the next 250 years be filled with great stories, fabulous experiences and the great legacy of families, patriots, pioneers, and adventurers. If you think about where we’ve come in the last 250 years the vision of the next 250 is mind-blowing! May it continue to be a beacon on the hill for freedom and may she stand against all foes foreign and domestic.
