Happy 250th Birthday, America!

Happy Independence Day, and happy 4th of July!

Let’s talk about America. America is the home of the free, a place where people are given the opportunity to become whatever they are willing to work toward. Our founding fathers wanted a new way of life for themselves and for the generations who would come after them. They left us a legacy of freedom, courage, and possibility.

Because of that legacy, each of us has the chance to pursue our own dreams. It does not matter who you are, where you come from, or what your background may be. In America, we are not meant to be held in place by class, title, family history, or economic status. If you are struggling, you still have the opportunity to build something better. If you are willing to work hard, learn, grow, and keep going, this country gives you room to become more.

Our founding fathers were young, especially by today’s standards, and yet they signed their names knowing they were putting their lives, their fortunes, and their futures on the line. They broke away from a system that limited them, and in doing so, they helped create a country where opportunity could belong to all of us.

Two hundred and fifty years is still young compared to many other countries, and I am personally thankful for the opportunities I have had. I have been successful in several different fields, and now I am becoming a full-time writer. I still work with everyday clients in my estate and trust business, but I have also been given the opportunity to pursue my writing, and I hope one day it becomes my full-time work.

I have written Fossils: A Dorchester Sisters Novel, which has already been released. I am also writing children’s books and tween books, and I love writing with both kid and teen co-authors. My first five children’s chapter books will be released soon. After that, I will be working on a tween mystery series with teen co-authors.

I will also be releasing Antiquities: A Dorchester Sisters Novel soon, followed by Sequins: A Dorchester Sisters Novel, which is already being written. After that trilogy, I plan to continue expanding the Dorchester world with The Dorchester Family Legacy Series.

I am always appreciative of you, the reader, for taking time to read my books. I know there are so many books out there, and I know you are choosing to spend part of your busy day with my stories. That means more to me than you know. Thank you for reading and thank you for all the feedback you continue to share with me.

Thank you, America, for the opportunities you have provided me and so many others. Here’s to 250 years of freedom, courage, hard work, and possibility and here’s to the next 250 years.

So happy 250th birthday, America. May the next 250 years be filled with great stories, unforgettable experiences, and the lasting legacy of families, patriots, pioneers, and adventurers. When we think about how far this country has come from 13 struggling colonies to 50 states and territories stretching across the continent the possibilities for the future are truly mind-blowing.

Until next time,

Signed M. G.
